There are two sides to every bug đ A frustrating user experience, and a process for fixing it.
The new Hotjar and Jira integration helps you report and fix issues faster, so your users can enjoy a seamless experience. Itâs a win-win! đ
Hereâs how it works:
Create a Jira issue from a recording in Hotjar. Itâll automatically include a link to your recording for quick accessâand quicker fixes.
Create a Jira issue from a console error in a recording. As well as a link to the recording, itâll also include information about the error so engineers know whatâs happening under the hood.
Create a Jira issue from a feedback or survey response. It'll automatically include the full response, the URL where they left the feedback, and a link to the corresponding recording if itâs available.
What does that mean for your team? Letâs take a closer look.
No more copying and pasting recording links into Jira.
When you spot something in a recording, click Share and youâll see the option to create a Jira issue. You can choose the exact time to start the recording at, and make it public so non-Hotjar users can view it. And thanks to Hotjarâs console tracking, you can also create Jira issues directly from Javascript errors. These errors appear in the console in the recordings playerâhover over one to see the option to create a Jira issue.
When youâre analyzing feedback or survey responses, create Jira issues directly from reports of confusing UX or show-stopping bugs. With the full response as well as link to the session recording when available, the team can triage and fix issues even quicker.
Create more actionable bug reports, and give developers the insight they need to reproduce and resolve issues faster.
When you create issues from recordings, console errors, feedback, and survey responses, you can select the Jira project and issue type (task or epic), as well as add a summary and description. Recording links, console error details, feedback, and survey responses are automatically added to the description field, so fixing an issue is easier than before.
