Adding a feedback widget to your site is a great way to find out how your users really feel. It allows you to capture the reactions of frustration, delight, and the range of emotions in between, that your users experience in the very moment they’re navigating your site.
We’re excited to introduce embedded widgets - a new way to gather feedback that will help you get more responses, more actionable insights, and provide a better experience for your users across all devices.
Hotjar users have told us (in their feedback about how we help them to gather feedback… 🤯) that requesting feedback from a button at the side of the page doesn’t always get you the insights you need. Why? Users don’t give feedback on the specific part of the page you’re interested in, they simply don’t spot the button, or it doesn’t display how you would like on all devices.
Embedded widgets give you the option to display your feedback widget in line with the other content on your site. This means you can:
Say your marketing team adds a new explainer video for your service on the homepage of your website and you want to get user feedback specifically about the video.
Now you can simply embed a feedback widget below the video, customize the main question to ask “Was this video helpful?”, and ask users to provide an emoji rating followed by a text-based explanation.
The result? The feedback widget being more visible will lead to more responses, and the fact that it refers specifically to the video will mean that the responses will be more relevant. This combination leads to faster, more actionable insights and better decisions.
The embedded widget beta is available to all Hotjar users until Feb 15, 2023. After that, Embedded widgets will only be available on Hotjar Ask Business and Scale plans. So, if your site isn’t on Business or Scale, you have plenty of time to try it out and see if it’s worth the upgrade.
Just create a new feedback widget and choose “Embedded” as the display type to get started.
