New! Use filters in Incoming Feedback to cut through the noise and find the most meaningful insights in less time.

Sorting through page after page of incoming feedback responses can take a lot of time that you simply donโ€™t have ๐Ÿ˜ถ. You know there are valuable responses that will spark inspiration for product improvements, but sometimes it just feels like finding a needle in a haystack.

To fix this, weโ€™ve added new filtering options in Incoming Feedback so you can cut through the noise and find actionable insights even quicker ๐Ÿ†.

Hereโ€™s how filters can help you find relevant responses, faster:

  1. Quickly find high-quality feedback by filtering for responses that contain a written feedback
  2. Identify users who are happy for you to follow-up by filtering for responses that contain an email address
  3. Pinpoint feedback on product releases by filtering responses by the date you launched new features or improvements
  4. Find feedback related to an area youโ€™re researching by filtering for responses that contain a specific keyword like โ€œloginโ€ or โ€œsign-upโ€
  5. Focus on responses gathered from specific pages by filtering by URL
  6. Drill into the ratings that matter to you by filtering for multiple ratings at one time like only neutral and negative feedback
  7. Sort responses by location by filtering incoming feedback by country
  8. Check for responses by device by filtering by desktop, tablet, or phone

๐Ÿ’ก Did you know that you can view the recording of the user who has submitted incoming feedback? This allows you to connect the dots between what the user said (their feedback response) and what the user experienced (session recording) while using your product.๐Ÿ’ก

Ship value faster by using Incoming Feedback for continuous discovery

Itโ€™s no secret that direct user feedback is essential to building better products, but Teresa Torres says it best in that โ€œif we are continuously making decisions about what to build, we need to stay continuously connected to our customers, so that we can ensure that our product discovery decisions will work for our customers.โ€

To ensure your product sign-up flow is a seamless experience for users, why not add an Incoming Feedback widget to continuously collect feedback at this crucial stage in their journey. With contextual user feedback flowing in, you can easily find inspiration for improvements, or even spot critical issues that are preventing conversions.

The addition of filters for incoming feedback responses mean you can quickly find user feedback that helps you make decisions that move the needle. For example:

  • Filter by feedback that contains written responses so you can get more detailed contextual feedback
  • Filter by URL like ends with โ€œ/pricingโ€ or contains โ€œexperiment variant_1โ€ to find feedback for specific pages
  • Filter by responses that include an email address so you can find users who are happy to chat with you about their experience
  • Filter by a custom date range to gather feedback for specific dates like major product releases

๐Ÿ’ก Find out how the Hotjar product team use Incoming Feedback to solve business-critical issues, fast! Including that time we used Hotjar to pick up on a potentially critical payment issue and resolved it within an hour!

Incoming Feedback filters are available on all plans, except for Country and Device filters which are only available on Plus, Business, and Scale.
