The API opens up new ways to automate processes and export data to your tools, so you can spend less time on busywork like manually exporting, uploading, and requesting data—and more time focusing on impactful work.
Use the Hotjar API to automatically:
- Export survey responses to your tools. Analyze data at scale and discover insights quicker. (Available on Ask Scale plans.)
- Perform user lookup and deletion requests. Automate your GDPR and user privacy obligations. (Available on Observe & Ask Scale plans.)
This is the beginning of the Hotjar API—our vision is to continue opening Hotjar up, to let you integrate with more tools, and give you more control over how you access and analyze your data.
Responses API: focus on insights, not manual exports
If you’ve got to analyze and share large amounts of survey data, this one’s for you!
Use the Responses API to easily bulk export survey responses to a data warehouse, reporting tool, or a trusty spreadsheet.
It’s a good way to:
- Blend and analyze survey data quickly. Export responses to a data warehouse to combine your customer satisfaction or Net Promoter Score® results with other customer data. Analyze data by key segments to identify trends or issues that will help you to improve the user experience.
- Visualize survey results in your reporting tools. Export your survey data to business intelligence tools to generate graphs and charts that make it easier to spot issues or opportunities, and support your business cases.
User lookup API: easily comply with privacy laws
Requests by users to delete their data are becoming more frequent.
Use the User lookup API to automate the process and stay compliant. An automated solution will save you a great deal of time and scales with your business.
What plans is the Hotjar API on?
The Hotjar API is made of of two separate APIs: User lookup and Responses APIs. The User lookup API is available on Observe and Ask Scale plans. The Responses API is only available on Ask Scale.
